As I wrote in my last article, Starting Your Internet Business: The Importance of Diversification, diversification is good when starting out, but focus is what’s important as you move forward …. so how do you diversify without loosing focus ?

Step 1) Make sure your additional income streams relate to the site Theme.

Let’s say your web Site is related to “Pets”, adding “pet supplies” is keeping with the web site Theme, adding “art supplies” is too far from the Theme.

Step 2) Make sure your income streams relate to each other.

This tip worth a thousand bucks, alone, but I see people making mistakes with it all the time. Using the “Pets Theme” web Site again, we already added “pet supplies”, so now look for related products, like “gourmet pet food”, “pet treats” and “pet medications” all these income streams relate to each other.

Why is this tip worth a thousand bucks alone ? Think about this, with the “Pets Theme” above;

• Any content you write can relate to the site theme and the products you are offering.
• You can right reviews and articles on the products, because they relate to your theme.
• The Search Engines will like it, because they see everything on the site is about “Pets”
• Your visitors will love it, because they are interested in the products because they have a Pet
• If you use Google Adsense on your site, the adverts will all be Pet related, so you should get more clicks.

Step 3) Don’t forget about step 1 or 2

No matter how good the commission is, don’t deviate from the plan, keep everything related.

The choices are endless and by relating all of your companies, you’ll save time and make more money.

Here is one of the ways I do it, do to sourceforge.net and download their free Mind Map software, called FreeMind.

Just install the software, spend 15 learning how to use it and away you go.

This software will help you brainstorm ideas and if you give it time, you will start to see more ways to add products to your site.

When anyone decides to start making a living on the Internet, it is best to diversify. There are a few reasons for this, markets can change, companies can collapse, the marketing material for a company may not be converting visitors to customers.
If you are only marketing one companies product or service, any of these could put an end to your business.

Here are some ways to diversify:

• Join several good companies. - Do your research, find out what people are saying about the company and it’s product or service.
• Get involved in several different markets. - If one market gets cold, or just does not bring the expected profits, you still have others to rely on.
• Use multiple methods of marketing. There are lots of ways to market and you should be using as many as possible.

You can do all this with one web site, by building a theme content website. This is a website that will have one central or main Theme, for instance “Hobby”, “Travel” etc.
As well as marketing your main product or service, you can also join several affiliate programs that match this market.

Another benefit of diversifying when you start making a living on the Internet, is that eventually, you will be able to see niche markets in your “Theme” that you could build mini sites on and start to specialize.

A word of warning, while diversification is good when starting out, Focus is what’s important as you move forward … I will write about that in the future

Now I’m off to do a LOT of reading

There is no way that anyone could become an Internet Millionaire without spending money, so although I will be starting from zilch, I will be spending the money I make to build my business and make more money ……

So to start my Internet Millionaire journey, I need to find ways to make money, without spending money, this will enable me to accumulate some funds, that I can use to get paid advertising in the future.
I need two things;

1. Free business opportunities.
2. Methods to advertise at no cost, other than my time.

1. Free Business Opportunities.

I think it is best to start 3 or 4 Free Business Opportunities, this way I can pick the ones that are working best and stop wasting time with unprofitable Opportunities.

Also, by going for no cost Business Opportunities, I’ll eliminate many of the scams, that have no real product or service and only want you to recruit people.
I don’t think anyone could become an Internet Millionaire from just recruiting people … accept maybe the owner of the company.

2. Methods to advertise at no cost, other than my time.

Advertising will be the major problem, but I’m sure that the methods I have found will work, because they have worked before for me, but I do need to find more, if I’m going to make money.
